Great experience with the Moraine Lake Bus Company for sunrise at Moraine Lake. Mitch was a great driver and also provided a ton of great recommendations for the area. You can tell they really care about ensuring you're comfortable and that you have a great time in Banff! It was nice to have a reservation in place to ensure you get to the lake(s) and don't need to worry about traffic and parking. Highly recommend.

The driver Mitch made the whole experience to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake a pleasure, was full of knowledge and was very friendly and funny. It was much better to get the Bus than park at Lake Louise as it was packed. Will definitely use again.

  • Rent a colourful canoe at the Moraine Lake Lodge and paddle across the water.
  • Visit the Moraine Lake Trading Post at the lodge to buy some souvenirs.
  • Watch for wildlife such as squirrels, native birds, chipmunks, and marmots.
  • Grab lunch at Moraine Lake Lodge’s café and sit outside on the patio and take in the scenery.
  • Of course, there are lots of opportunities to take photos to remember the experience. Moraine Lake never disappoints!

It really depends on what you plan to do when you arrive. Many guests like to watch the sunrise from the Rockpile and take the first shuttle back at 7:15 a.m. for breakfast and a coffee in Lake Louise Village.

Other people take advantage of hiking or rent a canoe, and the time for each of these activities varies greatly.

We recommend booking the last shuttle from Moraine Lake. If you’re back earlier, you can hop on an earlier bus if there’s space. Please send us an email if you’re trying to climb one of the bigger routes in the area and we can help you out with more information.

Our shuttles have enough space for passengers to bring strollers, large backpacks, climbing equipment, inflatable paddle boards, and walkers. Our buses do not have space to accommodate hard canoes or kayaks.

If it’s less than 72 hours before your departure, sorry, there are no changes or modifications allowed. Hikers plan their vacation around visiting Moraine Lake, and taking a shuttle is their only option.
