Great experience with the Moraine Lake Bus Company for sunrise at Moraine Lake. Mitch was a great driver and also provided a ton of great recommendations for the area. You can tell they really care about ensuring you're comfortable and that you have a great time in Banff! It was nice to have a reservation in place to ensure you get to the lake(s) and don't need to worry about traffic and parking. Highly recommend.

The driver Mitch made the whole experience to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake a pleasure, was full of knowledge and was very friendly and funny. It was much better to get the Bus than park at Lake Louise as it was packed. Will definitely use again.

Very much enjoyed riding with Moraine Lake Bus Company. Josh drove us safely to Lakes Louise and Moraine. He offered valuable insights into the lakes and was very friendly. Gavin was very welcoming and drove us back to the ski resort. Booking was easy, directions were clear, and service was professional and prompt. Highly recommend the company.

Visiting Lake Louise

If you plan to do a short trip to Lake Louise, take our 1 hour shuttle to Lake Louise en route to Moraine Lake. Here are some of our favourite ways to enjoy the lake:

  • Take a stroll around the lakeshore, which is a gentle walk along the Lake Louise Shoreline Trail. You’ll see the enormous Victoria Glacier and the Lake Louise boathouse and walk around to get views of the iconic Fairmount Lake Louise.
  • Sit and admire the views, there is plenty of seating around the lake.
  • Take as many photos as you like and admire the incredible views in front of your eyes.

For a longer time at Lake Louise, from 1+ hours to a full day

  • Hike around Lake Louise on any of the many exceptional beginner or advanced hikes. Each path offers fantastic views of the lake below.
  • Recommended hikes include the Beehive Circuit, Devil’s  Thumb, Saddleback Pass or Plain of Six Glaciers.
  • Opt to take the popular Lake Agnes Teahouse hike—a 6.8km round trip to the historic 1901 tea house. Stop for tea and a light lunch.
  • Explore the trails by horseback ride from Lake Louise running from 2-hour to 7-hour rides.
  • Take the Lake Louise Gondola ride for a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. Get $15 off (per person) off a Gondola ticket when you book a shuttle with us.
  • Kayak, canoe or SUP and paddle on Lake Louise on those icy-blue waters to get closer to the dramatic peaks and glaciers all around.  Bring your own equipment or rentals are available in Banff.
  • Visit the Chateau Lake Louise for lunch or book your spot for a classic, high-end afternoon tea at the Fairview Restaurant, complete with finger sandwiches, scones, and Prosecco.

FAQs

The Lake Louise shuttle is operational from June 14, 2024, till September 30,2024.

Yes, there are two options:

Option 1: we provide shuttles to Moraine Lake that include a 1 -hour stop at Lake Louise Lakeshore en route to Moraine Lake. These are great for visitors who just want to see the lake.

Option 2: Make two separate bookings for a “Direct to Moraine Lake”and a “Direct to Lake Louise”on the same day. These are perfect for the visot who wants to hike or otherwise spend more than an hour at each lake.

Due to the limited number of seats, we highly recommend that you plan ahead and make a reservation before you visit. However, if the bus arrives and there is availability, you can purchase a ticket directly from the bus driver. Send us an email if you have any more questions about how to book our shuttle service.

We recommend booking the last shuttle. If you’re back earlier, you can hop on an earlier bus if there’s space. Please send us an email if you’re trying to climb one of the bigger routes in the area and we can help you out with more information.

Our shuttles have enough space for passengers to bring strollers, large backpacks, climbing equipment, inflatable paddle boards, and walkers. Our buses do not have space to accommodate rigid canoes or kayaks.

If bringing a watercraft to  Lake Louise, please ensure you are compliant with all Banff National Park Water Activity Rules & Regulations

If it’s more than 72 hours before your departure, you may modify the time and date of your departure as many times as you like, free of charge. There are no refunds for cancelling your ticket; however, we encourage you to reschedule as required to ensure you can still visit  Lake Louise.

If it’s less than 72 hours before your departure, sorry, there are no changes or modifications allowed. Hikers plan their vacation around visiting the lakes and taking a shuttle is their only option. Out of respect for others requiring the shuttle, we need to give people enough time to plan and book.

There are no refunds or reschedules if you miss the shuttle. Our shuttles always leave on time, so please plan to arrive at your bus stop at least 15 minutes before your departure.

If you miss our last departure, you will have to walk 18 km back to your vehicle. Don’t be late!

You can book a ticket for the Lake Louise shuttle up to 1 hour before departure. After that, we will sell any remaining tickets to visitors waiting at the bus stop.

Yes. Parks Canada requires all adult visitors to Banff National Park (Lake Louise is located within the park) to buy a permit for the duration of their stay. Passes are available to buy online, in person at Parks Canada’s park gates, and at information centres in Banff and Lake Louise.
